Olathe Chamber’s Career Expo a Hit!

Ball Conference Center recently hosted Olathe Chamber of Commerce’s 2016 High School Career Expo! High School juniors and seniors had the chance to come out to Ball for a wonderful opportunity to explore employment opportunities after graduation.  Students were able to check out a variety of vocational opportunities, including opportunities with the Olathe Police Department, Johnson County Community College, Garmin and Sysco.

“I’m interested in criminal justice, and today I learned that I can get an internship with the Olathe Police Department, said Carlos Becerra, a junior at Olathe North High School. “It was a really good experience and I’m glad I came.”

Whether students were looking for internships, full-time jobs, or just an opportunity to work on their networking skills, the event had something for everyone. Through the Expo, students experienced the chance to chat with recruiters from each organization and learn more about opportunities after graduation – including secondary education, technology opportunities, government vocations and more!

“We truly appreciate being able to host the Olathe Chamber 2016 career expo,” said Ball Conference Center’s Manager of Events and Operations, Michael Nicoski. “It’s a great opportunity for local high school students. We’re happy to be part of it.”
