Isha and Deval had 500+ attendees at their own wedding – including many who were flying in from out of town and needed lots of help with logistics. From managing and coordinating where family members would stay, to transportation and even where to eat while in town, no detail was too small to be managed and managed well.
“It turned out to be quite the ordeal. We both said to each other, ‘if we can pull this off, we can plan anything!’” said Isha. Their wedding turned out to be a huge success and iDev Event Company was born. iDev has become the premier South Asian event planning company in the Kansas City area and the Midwest.
The newly married founders (through iDev) recently staged a “Bollywood” Valentine’s Day Party at the Ball Event Center – which turned out to be quite a hit! said Isha. “We wanted to bring people together to enjoy a Bollywood party in a bigger city style.” The Valentine’s Day Party was the first event of its kind in Kansas City, and iDev Event Company was happy to put it together. “Kansas City doesn’t have the large South Asian population – or nearly as many events like this that other larger cities have. So we stepped it up!”
Isha herself was a featured performer as was DJ Mack (who flew in all the way from Toronto), The “Kishore Kumar” of Kansas City, Amit Desai also put on a show. Guests enjoyed Bollywood music throughout the night, as well as appetizers and a buffet catered by Touch of Asia. Throw in a dancefloor and cash bar – and it was definitely a night to remember!
